image

No, no, no…I am not talking about the candy apples from the carnival.  I am talking about the perfect post workout meal to restore those glycogen levels…and to make it even more desirable, cinnamon caramel apple’s that are GLUTEN free!  In addition to this cereal treat, I add 20oz of protein to my coffee to ensure I have a balanced meal.

Ingredients:

1 Serving Cream of Rice

cream-of-rice

1 C water

Directions:

Mix the cereal and water together in a bowl.  Heat in microwave for 2 minutes…keep an eye on it, as it tends to boil over.  I intermittently stir it, as it can clump as well.  I also add water if it overcooks and absorbs the initial serving of water.  Dice the apple and mix into the cooked cereal.  Pour the caramel flavor over the apples; mix the sweetener and cinnamon together and sprinkle on top.  Enjoy with a shake to balance out the meal!
