3Sixty Athletics presents our new column, Eat Like A Pro, with Emily Ingraham. Emily recently received her Pro Card after taking first place in only her second INBF figure competition. Fresh off of her contest prep, and subsequent stage domination, she brings us one of her favorite appetizers. If you’re not dieting down and need to fuel heavy off season training, Emily says this recipe can easily be doubled, or even tripled depending on macronutrient needs. Add some rice or corn tortillas if you need extra carbs as well. Or just take it down as is for a low calorie, high protein/moderate fat snack.
Eat Like A Pro – Tuna Avocado
By Emily Ingraham
During competition prep, proteins, fats and carbs can become bland, but I turn to my favorites to make my tuna and avocado taste like it came fresh from your local Taqueria. I love Mexican Cuisine, and if you do, too, be sure to always stock up on Mrs… Dash Fiesta Lime seasoning and chipotle hot sauce.
Appetizer: Tuna + Avocado
Ingredients:
3 oz tuna (fresh or canned in water)
½ C avocado (cubed)
Mrs. Dash Fiesta Lime seasoning (as needed)
Chipolte hot sauce (as needed)
Mustard (as needed – I prefer Grey Poupon® Creamy & Mild)
Directions:
Mix tuna and mustard until desired consistency. Toss in cubed avocado. Sprinkle seasoning and hot sauce until desired flavor.
